    Based on the information and data obtained from the Asia BestWorkplace (Mainland China), this evaluation report describes the overallsituation of the participating enterprises in the aspects of workplace healthand employees’ health. This report will also try the best to help theenterprises understand the national policies better, improve their ownworkplace health policies and environment, promote the health of theiremployees and create the best workplace.The data were collected from June to September 2019, and a total of14,953 employees participated in this study.Core Content (Excerpt)Health policy and welfareThe enterprises had developed comprehensive health policies andsystems, especially the state policies required ones, such as medical security,regular health examination, paid leave policy were stipulated and had beenimplemented in place, and most enterprises can consider the employee healthwhen formulating the policy, which reflects the awareness of enterprises toassume the responsibility for health.The majority of enterprises had comprehensive indoor smoking freepolicy, but less than half of the enterprises had established work-breakexercise policy.Most of the enterprises had created healthy environment and providedhealth services for the employees, such as facilities, health education, safetytraining and other services. It reflected that the enterprises had thewillingness and ability of paying attention to and serving the health ofemployees.Health conditionMore than 50% of employees reported neck, shoulder or back pain,which was related to working style and posture, as well as lack of exercise.The rate of overweight and obesity among employees was same as the nationallevel, but the proportion of overweight was 10% higher than that in 2018. Theself-reported prevalence of hyperlipidemia and hypertension was 3.8% and 2.5%,respectively, which is closely related to overweight, obesity and lack ofexercises.The mental health score of employees was 17.8 (with a full score of30), and more than 70% of the employees cared about their mental health.Provision and utilizationof healthy environment and servicesAnnual physical examination was the most common health serviceprovided by almost all the enterprises. On the other hand, physical examinationwas also the health service which the employees utilized most common and mostinterested in.The enterprises could carry out occupational safety management accordingto the requirements of national policies, but the some of the employees werenot aware of the occupational health risks in the workplaces. It was found thata few of the employees didn’t wear working clothes (or protective gear)according to requirements.Physical activities were the most common health activities organizedby the enterprise, and it was also one of the health activities that employeeswere interested in. While only 23.9% of employees reported to participate inthe sports activities. It remaindered that the enterprises should improve thecontents and organizational form of sports activities so that to promote theemployees’ participation.Methodology and Data SourceThe workplaces in this survey werecompanies that volunteered to participate in theAsia Best Workplace (Mainland China)program. The contents of thesurvey, and data collection methods were finalized by the Advisory Committee oftheAsia Best Workplace (Mainland China),and the survey was also approved by the Peking University Health SciencesCenter Ethics Committee (IRB00001052-18055).About Asia Best Workplace (Mainland China)AsiaBest Workplace (Mainland China) 2019 is organizedby AIA Group Limited, supported by Peking University School of Public Health asthe academic partner, and co-organized together with China's leading HumanResource media company HRoot. The aim of this selection activity is to helpcompanies understand information relevant to workplace health and employeehealth, improve their workplace health policies and environment, and promoteemployees’ health and wellbeing. Participating firms which finish the surveywill receive their own professional analysis report in terms of the overallworkplace health.
